VIIIAIN (pronounced “Villain”) is a Romanian producer, artist, and DJ working with sound as tension, contrast, and controlled chaos.
His music lives between electronic pressure and pop structure, pulling from Deep Dubstep, UK Garage, Grime, Trap, Brazilian funk, and whatever else serves the idea — never the genre.
Active since 2012, VIIIAIN spent nearly a decade behind a masked identity, prioritizing work over presence, impact over visibility. During this period, he built an extensive body of work that includes multiple albums, EPs, and singles, while steadily moving between underground electronic spaces and mainstream production environments.
His career includes songwriting and production work connected to artists such as Alexandra Stan, as well as participation in international songwriting camps associated with artists like Post Malone, The Kid Laroi, and DJ Snake. In parallel, he contributed music to major television formats including Masked Singer Romania, The Voice of Romania, X-Factor, Hit Play, and Superstar Romania, and produced music for global brand campaigns for Coca-Cola and Samsung.
As part of DeMoga Music, one of Romania’s most influential music production companies, VIIIAIN operated inside large-scale creative systems while remaining largely behind the scenes. During this time, he took part in the DeMoga Music x UNTOLD Bus Sessions, a mobile production format built around rapid collaboration and live songwriting, sharing creative environments with Romanian and international artists such as Lost Frequencies, Sam Feldt, Calum Scott, Dirtyphonics, Korolova, Nusha, Chico Rose, Carla’s Dreams, Irina Rimes, VAMA, and Șatra B.E.N.Z. — not as a fixed studio collaborator, but as part of a rotating, high-pressure creative context.
Following his departure from DeMoga Music, VIIIAIN stepped away from constant output to recalibrate. In late 2023, he returned with new material alongside long-time collaborator RIVER HOOKS, marking the beginning of a new creative phase centered on authorship, restraint, and long-form vision.
In 2024, he released the albums Back To The Shadows and The Streets We Made, and performed at Massif Festival and UNTOLD Festival, sharing lineups with artists such as Wilkinson, Chase & Status, Netsky, Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren, Alok, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. That same year, his track “Life Is A Game” was remixed and played by Gorgon City during their DJ Mag HQ set.
In 2025, VIIIAIN expanded into film scoring, contributing as a music producer to the feature film Mentorii – The Movie, directed by Adrian Tapciuc and starring Cătălin Bordea, Dorian Popa, Loredana Groza, and Adrian Titieni. The film became a Romanian box-office hit, and VIIIAIN’s work appeared on the Mentorii Original Soundtrack – EP, released via DeMoga Music.
His recent output includes Remixing The Shadows, a remix EP featuring MANDREI, SAMBO, and Truthday & Cristiana Dicianu, alongside continued appearances at major festivals, including UNTOLD’s anniversary edition with artists such as Black Coffee, Lost Frequencies, Martin Garrix, and Armin van Buuren.
VIIIAIN’s work is now structured around intention over output, narrative over noise, and releases that arrive when they’re ready — not when they’re scheduled.
This project exists where structure fractures, silence matters, and nothing is released by accident.
